The 440LX AGPset optimizes the performance of the Pentium® II processor for small business, large business and home users.

With the Pentium II processor Intel introduced a substantial leap in performance. This performance increase can be attributed to the raw power of the floating point unit, along with the Dual Independent Bus architecture and MMX™ technology. The Intel 440LX AGPset with AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) extends the system bandwidth to the graphics controller, complementing on the DIB architecture. The Intel 440LX AGPset optimizes the system bandwidth and concurrency with the implementation of Quad Port Acceleration (QPA). QPA provides 4-port concurrent arbitration of the processor bus, graphics, PCI bus and SDRAM. Together, the Pentium II processor and 440LX AGPset help evolve today's PC architecture from the multimedia PC to the high performance and scalability required to support the Visual Connected PC.

3D Graphics in the Mainstream
